CRYO-CELL REPORTS FISCAL THIRD QUARTER 2018 RESULTS

OLDSMAR, FL – October 15, 2018 – Cryo-Cell International, Inc. (OTC:QB Markets Group Symbol: CCEL) (the “Company”), the world’s first private cord blood bank to separate and store stem cells in 1992, announced results for the fiscal third quarter ended August 31, 2018.

Financial Results

Revenue

Consolidated revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2018 were $7.9 million compared to $6.9 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2017. The revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2018 consisted of $7.2 million in processing and storage fees, $539,286 in licensee income, $29,308 in product revenue and $65,575 in public banking revenue compared to $6.3 million in processing and storage fees, $742,445 in licensee income, $115,376 in product revenue and $0 in public banking revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2017. Due to the acquisition of Cord:Use, the Company now records public banking revenue which is generated from the sale of the donated cord blood units to the National Marrow Donor Program (“NMDP”), which distributes the cord blood units to transplant centers located in the United States and around the world.

Net Income

The Company reported net income for the three months ended August 31, 2018 of $245,000, or $0.03 per basic share and $0.03 per diluted share, compared to net income of $652,000, or $0.09 per basic share and $0.09 per diluted share for the three months ended August 31, 2017. For the three months ended August 31, 2018, there was a 15% increase in processing and storage revenues, a 26% increase in cost of sales and a 28% increase in selling, general and administrative expenses. The increase in selling, general and administrative expenses is due in part to $735,000 of expenses related to the CordUse purchase. These expenses are non-recurring expenses related to the acquisition of Cord:Use.
